With iOS 16 you can fully customise your Lock Screen to make it look exactly as you want. A big part of that is the time, shown in the clock at the top of your Lock Screen. I'm sure I'm not the only person who has made a ton of new Lock Screens on iOS 16?! Well, there's a fantastic feature connected to the Focus Modes that we all know and love that makes switching between Lock Screens incredibly easy. You can connect a Lock Screen to a particular Focus mode and when you enable that mode, the Lock Screen changes automatically. But, more than that, this will also work for your Home Screen Layout and even your Apple Watch Faces!! Here's a simple and easy-to-follow tutorial to show you how it all works.

One of my favourite new Lock Screen options is the new Emoji Lock Screens. With this tool you can create the lock screen of your dreams using a combination of ANY emoji you like. This simple and easy-to-follow tutorial will show you how to get back those deleted messages so you don't have to panic!

Edit an iMessage After Sending It
With iOS 16 it's now possible to edit an iMessage after you send it - up to five times in fact! You can correct typos, punctuation or even change the message entirely, it's up to you. This is a great feature to have in Messages and, if you ask me, it's been a long time coming! There are some things to be aware of with it though, and this video will talk you through both how to use it and also what quirks there are.

How to Undo Send and Delete an iMessage
With iOS 16 you can easily undo sending an iMessage, which will immediately delete it from the intended recipients device - with no trace of what the original message said. You can use this simple feature to recover from those embarrassing moments when you accidentally text the wrong person, or when you make an awkward typo that you want to rectify without them seeing! This short how-to video will explain how to do this and the limitations that Apple has put in place for the feature.

With iOS 16 you can now easily mark an iMessage Conversation as unread, brining back the notification badge and reminding you to reply later. Detect and Delete Duplicate Photos to save iCloud Space
iOS 16 has a powerful new feature that'll automatically detect Duplicate Photos, inform you about them and then delete the lower resolution copy when you want. It'll merge any missing Metadata between them, meaning nothing is lost. This is a fantastic way to reclaim storage on your iPhone or on iCloud as it'll delete lots of large duplicate photographs that are just taking up space!

Bulk Edit your Photographs Quickly and Easily
With iOS 16 you can now edit multiple images at the same time, with the new bulk image editing tools. That means you can add some filters, change the exposure and adjust the lighting on a photo and then use those exact same edits on the other pictures you took at the same time. This saves a ton of time and means getting a great looking set of images is easier than ever before!

Extract the Subject from any Photo
With iOS 16 you can now easily extract the subject from a photo (whether that's a person, group of people, animal, object or something else entirely) and drag it anywhere you like on iOS. That means you could save it as a new image (with a transparent background), paste it into Messages as a sticker or drop it into a document you're working on. This short and easy-to-follow guide will show you exactly how it works.

Convert Data from within the Camera
With iOS 16 you can convert data in real time, using the Camera app. Whether it's cooking temperatures, currency conversion or changing another metric, the Camera app now lets you do this super quickly without even having to take a photo! Use Live Text in your Videos
With iOS 16 you can now use Live Text features in Video as well as Photos! That means you can pause a video and copy and paste any text on screen, translate from one language to another or even convert a measurement or value to one you're more familiar with. Doing this in a video is a great update to Live Text, and in this easy-to-follow tutorial video I'll show you exactly how it works.

Undo + Redo Edits in Photos
With iOS 16 you can now quickly Undo and Redo edits in Photos. That means you can be fine-tuning an image and quickly jump backward and forward to compare how it looks - or rescue an image after it goes wrong!

How to Undo Sending an Email
With iOS 16 you can undo sending an email if you've sent it by accident. No more sending the wrong message to the wrong person, or having to apologise for forgetting that attachment. You can now just undo the email send and correct the message before sending it again. This short tutorial video shows you exactly how it works.

The Mail app in iOS 16 will now let schedule an email to send later, at a time of your choosing. That means you can reply to emails in your own time but only send them during working hours. With iOS 16 you can now track orders in real time using the Apple Wallet app. When you pay with Apple Pay you'll now see an additional option to follow the status of an order live in the Wallet app, including push notifications when the status changes. With iOS 16 its now possible to safely share your Health data with a trusted contact - perhaps a family member. This means it's also possible to request the Health data of somebody too. This means looking after elderly relatives or ensuring that your children are okay is something that's now possible on iPhone. It's very clever to set up and allows you an incredibly fine-grain level of control over what does and doesn't get shared. Here's how it works.

Automatic Medication Reminders in Health
With iOS 16 you can set up Medicine Reminders in the Health app, which will then automatically remind you on both your iPhone and your Apple Watch to take your medication at the right time. You can choose the type and dose of medicine, the frequency and even learn if any of your medicines might have adverse reactions together. How to use Enhanced Sleep Tracking in Health
With iOS 16 you can now see more detail than ever about your sleep habits. It's long been possible to track your sleep with Apple Watch and the Health app, but up until now it's just been a basic display of 'In Bed' or 'Asleep'. With iOS 16 and watchOS 9 you can now see far more detailed metrics including time spent in different stages of sleep (like REM, Deep Sleep etc) and compare this over time to other data sets like Heart Rate or Respiratory Rate to get a full picture of your sleep habits.

You can add this extra layer of privacy to individual notes as you wish and it will stop anybody unauthorised from getting to see your data. It's nice and simple to set up and this easy-to-follow video will show you exactly how to do it.

Create Automatic Smart Folders to Sort your Notes
With iOS 16 you can set up automatic groups to better organise your Notes. These can be very sophisticated, with single or multiple filters to help you quickly and efficiently find your notes. For instance, you could have a Smart Folder which groups all notes made in 2022, that have attachments and that contain a certain tag. Then every time you make a new Note that meets these criteria it'll appear in that folder too. Check out this short tutorial to get started.

Yes, the title sounds click-baity, but trust me - this works. In this short tutorial I'll show you how to create your own Customised Spatial Audio Profile (that'll sync across all your devices through iCloud) to improve your AirPods experience dramatically. It'll recognise the shape of your ears by scanning them with your FaceID Camera and will then be able to customise the audio output in each ear to best suit you. It sounds impossible, but it works!

How To Enable Keyboard Vibration Haptics
With iOS 16 you can now enable a setting called 'Haptic Feedback' for your Keyboard. But what does that actually mean? Well, when you type you'll now feel a gentle vibration effect which makes it feel a lot more like you're typing on an actual Keyboard - even though it's just a touchscreen! It's subtle but in my experience it really makes typing on the iPhone a much more enjoyable experience. Give it a try today!

How to Mirror an Apple Watch to your iPhone
With iOS 16 you can view and even control your Apple Watch from inside the Settings app on your iPhone. You can interact with it in real time and use it just like you would do on your wrist, but through your iPhone screen. This is an awesome accessibility tool that has hugely useful benefits to everyone. For example, you can now do a Screen Recording of your Apple Watch while in this new mirroring mode!

Show or Hide the Battery Percentage Icon
With iOS 16 you can now finally show the Battery Percentage icon in your toolbar at the top of your iPhone. The battery icon itself can now show exactly how much (or little!) battery you have left at any given time which is incredibly helpful. Plus, this new battery indicator makes it incredibly obvious when you're very low on battery, when you're in Low Power Mode or when you're charging. There's a lot more to it than just showing the percentage!

Change your Notification Display Mode
With iOS 16 you can now customise how Notifications are displayed on the Lock Screen. You can stick with the traditional List of Notifications which fills the screen or opt for something new like the Stack mode that neatly collects all your Notifications in a single pile at the bottom of the Lock Screen or maybe even the Count mode which displays a discreet number of notifications at the bottom of the Lock Screen to make them less distracting while you're working.

Get Siri to Read Aloud your Notifications (without AirPods!)
With iOS 16 you can get Siri to read your notifications out loud - without the need for AirPods. You have complete control about which apps and notifications get read out (so don't worry about Siri announcing something embarrassing!) but this is a great feature to have if you don't always have eyes on your iPhone screen. Siri Announcing Notifications is easy to set up and customise and I'll guide you through the whole process in this simple and easy to follow tutorial.
